Prime Minister receives new ambassadors
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received newly appointed ambassadors from Mongolia and Nigeria in Hanoi on November 28.
At a reception for Mongolian Ambassador Dorj Enkhbat, Dung stressed that Vietnam and Mongolia enjoy a traditional friendship. The two peoples have always supported each other in national construction and development.
Vietnam attaches importance to boosting cooperation with Mongolia and is willing to help the country strengthen ties with other members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Dung said.
The Government leader suggested the two sides hold a meeting of the two countries’ Inter-Governmental Committee to foster cooperation in the fields of economics, labour, education and training.
Dorj Enkhbat said the Mongolian Government and people hope to intensify the two countries’ traditional relationship, stating that during his term in Vietnam, he will do his utmost to promote cooperation with Vietnam in all fields, especially in economics and trade.
Receiving Nigerian Ambassador Mazi Matthias Ojih Okafor, Dung stressed that Vietnam attaches importance to cooperation with Nigeria in all fields for the benefit of both sides.
He said the two countries should exchange delegations to boost mutual understanding, sign an agreement on investment protection and double taxation avoidance and strengthen cooperation in the fields of agriculture, oil and gas, and information technology.
Okafor values Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements, confirming that during his term he will make every effort to foster bilateral cooperation, especially in agriculture, energy, mining and information technology.
At both receptions, the Vietnamese leader expressed his belief that the two ambassadors will work closely with relevant ministries and agencies to improve bilateral relations./.
