Intellectuals Honoured with State Laureate Titles
On 26 November the President of Mongolia, Ts.Elbegdorj, granted State Laureate titles to five intellectuals for their contributions and great intellectual investment, and for raising the name of their country, Mongolia, high in the world. The title was awarded to poet Ts.Bavuudorj for his outstanding literature works, distinctive mentality and classical writing style, and for his contribution to Mongolian literature. Scientists T.Janlav, R.Enkhbat, Ch.Altannar and O.Chuluunbaatar received the title for their brilliant research work, which developed a new approach in the science of mathematics and in the optimization field, including the following works: “Newton-type methods and their usage”, “Pareto optimization , game theory and balance theory”, “Quasiconvex programming and its applications” and “New Methods in Physics Adjustment and their applications”.
The President delivered a speech at the ceremony in which he congratulated the new State Laureates. “Mongolian history is great; as are the people who create such history. Mongolians have such great potential of intelligence and good hearts. The State Laureate title is given on Independence Day in recognition of outstanding achievements. I think that a historic day that proves that Mongolian citizens are competitive in the world is occurring today,” the President said.
