Massachusetts teen delivers shoe box gifts to children in Mongolia

LAKEVILLE — Caitlin Brown, a local teenager from Massachusetts, was one of 20 teens selected from across the nation to deliver gift-filled shoe boxes to children in Mongolia this summer.

"This trip gave me an opportunity to bring hope to these children and to see what a difference simple gifts can make." said Caitlin.

Everyone is invited to the Mullein Hill Baptist Church, 111 Highland Road, on Saturday from 6-7 p.m. to hear Caitlin speak and share video presentations from her trip. Refreshments will follow with a time of fellowship. All are welcome.

Caitlin was a member of "Samaritan's Purse Youth" chosen to hand-deliver shoe boxes filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items like soap, toothpaste, and toothbrushes.

Operation Christmas Child, an outreach of Samaritan's Purse, is the world's largest project of its kind. It requires months of preparation, thousands of volunteers, and is expected to bless over 9 million children this year who are facing natural disaster, disease, war, famine, or poverty. National Collection Week is Nov 12-19.
