Chinese, Mongolian pop stars celebrate cultural event
Chinese and Mongolian pop stars put on a concert Saturday at the Central Culture Palace of Mongolia to celebrate Chinese Culture Month.
The star-studded line-up included China's Mao Ning, Ai Jing and Ulaantuya and Mongolian singer Ariunaa as the audience was treated to songs and dances featuring both national characteristics.
Also present to enjoy the event were Mongolian Deputy Speaker Sangajav Bayartsogt, Culture Minister Ts. Oyungerel and Chinese ambassador to Mongolia Wang Xiaolong.
Chinese Culture Month opened Thursday and will last until September 28.
Other events planned for the month include performances by three art troupes from China's Hebei province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and a concert by Chinese pop stars.
It also includes a Chinese film week, seven Chinese culture exhibitions, three forums related to media, literature and Mongolian medicine exchanges, as well as Chinese kung fu performances by monks from China's Shaolin Temple.
