Mongolian mountaineer to leave for Arctic voyage
Mongolian mountaineer, State Prized Athlete Gototvdorj Usukhbayar, is ready to leave for his Arctic voyage. Gotovdorj Usukhbayar will leave on Saturday April 4th on a journey to reach the North Pole at 90 degrees N latitude travelling over the Arctic Ocean.
The head of the Sport Training Center of the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism, B.Naranbaatar, will receive Gotovdorj Usukhbayar on Wednesday to wish him well on his voyage to the Arctic.
President of Mongolia Tsakhia Elbegdorj initiated the idea of the voyage and the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism supported it by providing training preparation.
The voyage reaching the North Pole at 90 degrees, aiming to express the Mongolian peoples’ voice against climate change, will last 20 days.
