Inner Mongolia Erdos Cashmere Group joins CCMI

The Cashmere and Camel Hair Manufacturers Institute (CCMI) welcomes new member company Inner Mongolia Erdos Cashmere Group Co. Ltd. of China.

Erdos, established in 1979, is the world's largest processor of cashmere, with 30 percent of global production capacity. Erdos has been a significant contributor to the advancement of cashmere fiber testing technology.

"We welcome our first Chinese member to the Institute," said CCMI president, Karl Spilhaus, who added, "No longer is China looked to as merely a source for raw materials and inexpensive manufactured goods; the entry of Erdos into the Institute is a recognition that China has taken its place among the elite club of the world's top processors of luxury fiber products."

The Cashmere & Camel Hair Manufacturers Institute was established in 1984 to maintain the integrity of cashmere and camel hair products through education, information and industry cooperation.
