HILLARY R.CLINTON TO VISIT US
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The U.S Secretary of State Ms. Hillary R.Clinton will arrive in Mongolia on July 9.
She intends to take part in the international forum on women's leadership and in the meeting of the Governing Council of the Community of Democracies (CoD) which are to run July 8-9 in Ulaanbaatar, said G.Zandanshatar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, on Friday.
Called by Mongolia, who took the two-year presidency of the CoD on July 1 last year, some 100 representatives of foreign countries and 80 Mongolian delegates will participate in the forum. The grand gathering is expected to form an understanding about importance of women's leadership in the democratic society, share experience in related matters, consider issues of women's role in the sustainable development of energy and economics and of supporting the political and civil participation of women.
Arrivals are expected of a former President of Kyrgyzstan Ms. Roza Otunbayeva, a Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Ms. Edita Tahiri, a former Premier of Canada Ms. Kim Campbell, a Foreign Minister of Estonia Mr. Urmas Paet, a Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights Ms. Kyung-wha Kang, a CoD's Secretary-General Ms. Maria Leissner; and of other high officials.
The meeting of the CoD's Governing Council will take place on July 9 with participation of the U.S Secretary of State Ms. Clinton. She is also to meet with the Premier S.Batbold to hold high-level state negotiations.
For the time being, 17 out of CoD's 25 member-countries have confirmed that they will attend the meeting of the Governing Council. They intend to discuss organizational matters, plan of preparation for the CoD's Conference of Ministers which is expected next year in Ulaanbaatar.
