MONASTERY STAFFERS HAVE TRAINING ON CHILDREN'S RIGHTS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A two-day seminar themed “Children's Rights - our responsibility” for authorities of temples and monasteries kicked off on Monday in the Bishrelt Plaza hotel.
The National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia is working as the general organizer of the seminar together with the Citizens' Representative Khural of Ulaanbaatar city; civil society organizations including the National Authority for Children (NAC) with support from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
It aims to improve knowledge of monastery teachers and staffers on children's rights and to share views on the cooperation in the future. Within the seminar, training is being held under topics “National mechanism on protection of human rights”, “International guarantee on the freedom of being religious or non-religious”, “International trends on providing and protecting children's rights”, “Tendencies and methodologies based on children's rights” and “Current context of the ties between the state and religion”.
This seminar also has purposes to give an answer on legal activities of religious organizations in Ulaanbaatar and to share views on any violations over the children's rights in monasteries or temples, said J.Batbayasgalan, the Secretary of the Citizens' Representative Khural of the capital city.
