Gasoline prices to be reduced
On January 6, petroleum importers raised gasoline prices by MNT 270 per liter, blaming the falling rate of the tugrik against the U.S. dollar for the increase.
Since then, the companies have reduced prices by just MNT 50 per liter, even though the tugrik’s rate against the U.S. dollar has been stabilized. That is why the Government has stated that, if petroleum importers don’t reduce gas prices further, it will take measures to hold them accountable.
On Thursday, several petroleum importers, including Petrovis LLC and Shunkhlai LLC, announced that they will reduce prices ahead of Tsagaan Sar.
Petrovis LLC will reduce A80 gasoline from MNT 1,480 to MNT 1,430; A92 gasoline from MNT 1,780 to MNT 1,730; A95 gasoline from MNT 1,930 to MNT 1,880; and diesel from MNT 1,830 to MNT 1,780.
Shunkhlai LLC will reduce prices by the same amounts. Other companies will reduce A80 gasoline from MNT 1,480 to MNT 1,450; A92 gasoline from MNT 1,780 to MNT 1,730; and A95 gasoline from MNT 1,930 to MNT 1,800.
