Kindergarten teachers strike
Some kindergarten teachers went on strike in Ulaanbaatar on Monday morning, closing four kindergartens in the Bayanzurkh district and one in the Khan-Uul district.
The teachers are demanding a raise beginning January 2012. Parents who took their children to kindergartens only to find them closed were angry, though the teachers said they had announced the strike through the media.
But some parents said the kindergarten teachers should have thought about the hardships caused by the strike, since many parents are unable to care for their children during working hours.
Managing officials of the kindergartens said the strike was scheduled to end at 11 a.m.
