Mongolia Names 2014 As Family Support Year
ULAANBAATAR, Jan 8 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Population Development and Social Welfare has designated 2014 as Family Support Year, Mongolia's MONTSAME news agency reported.
The announcement was made following proposals raised at national seminars and conferences held in previous years.
"A family forms the foundation of a country's development, progress and security," said Minister S. Erdene.
Various activities have been planned as part of Family Support Year, including national programmes on supporting families and child development as well as the establishment of a Family Advice Centre.
Mongolian lawmakers are planning to redraft a family bill this year.
