Government spends more on earthquake studies
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In its regular meeting held Wednesday, cabinet members decided to carry out a research work for the purpose of detailed studies of flashpoints for earthquake activity near the capital city and on monitoring earthquake hazards and earthquake risk reduction.
With this goal, a decision was made to allocate funds from the government reserve for the sum of over 2.1 billion togrogs for construction of an observation point for earthquakes in the zones of seismic activity and active faults.
It was also decided that 6.8 billion togrogs' package for buying equipment and techniques to be used in case of earthquake would be included into the Chief budget manager's bid packet when discussing the annual budget project.
