AMBASSADOR TO SOUTH AFRICA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Concurrent Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of South Africa B.Odonjil October 16 presented his letter of credence to the President of the latter country Mr Jacob Zuma.

At the meeting after the ceremony, Mr Odonjil passed the greetings of the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj to Mr Zuma, and expressed Mongolia's willingness to actively cooperate with South Africa in every possible field of relations and cooperation.

After that, the two dignitaries shared views on multilateral collaboration and the specific events to be organized within the twentieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The South African leader pledged to support the Ambassador-designate in developing Mongolia-South Africa relations and collaboration.



In connection with his presenting the credentials, Mr Odonjil met in Pretoria city with the South African ministers for International Relations and Cooperation, for Mineral Resources, and for Trade and Industry, before holding meetings in Johannesburg with senior officials from related authorities, foreign diplomatic representative offices and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of South Africa.


During his visit to South Africa, the Ambassador also met with his fellow countrymen residing in that country, and had a conversation with them about their life, while needed legal assistance was provided by the Embassy staff. Some twenty Mongolians nowadays live in South Africa.
Mongolia established diplomatic relations with the Republic of South Africa, one of the highly developed countries in Africa, on May 25 of 1994.
