Trade Centers to be inspected

Ulaanbaatar City Mayor, E.Bat-Uul, has recently issued an ordinance to form a working group to inspect major trade centers operating in six central districts. The working group will conduct inspections at 56 trade markets and centers trading food, goods and wood products between September 5 and September 17.

Below are details regarding the inspection, as stated by G.Sedensuren, expert in charge of Prevention of Ulaanbaatar Emergency Management Agency.

-Can you give our readers some details about the inspection?

-The working group will be in charge of implementing state monitoring of trade centers and markets in densely populated areas of the city, as well as assess whether violations detected during inspections carried out in early 2013 have been fixed at the centers. Emergency exits at Bars-1 of Bars Impex, Bars-2 of MBC Group, and Bayanzurkh of Khantalst company were blocked and their electricity lines were below standard. In other words, they are very prone to fire breakout.

-How do trade center administrators fix violations found during an inspection?

-The administrators send us a written statement that they fixed the violations after doing so. Some violations are not able to be fixed right away due to financial problems. When we try to close the centers found to operate under violations, their renters oppose the decision.
