D.Altankhuyag gets state financing to study in America
President Ts.Elbegdorj issued an edict financing the tuition fees of students who received an invitation to study in one of the world’s Top 100 universities. As this directive is already being implemented, interviews of students who want to get a Master’s or doctoral degree with a loan from the State Educational Fund were held on August 1 and 5. A student who wants to study Economics, S.Tserendash, scored 94 points taking the first place; while State Honored artist D.Altankhuyag scored 90 points placing second.
Well-known dancer D.Altankhuyag who is a member of the “Boston Ballet” company decided to study for a Master’s degree in Arts Management. A close source to him said that he had received an invitation to enroll at the Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. After D.Altankhuyag had been interviewed in Mongolia, he immediately returned to America. About 60 out of 94 people passed the examination and received loans from the State Educational Fund.
According to the new regulation, the government will finance students who received an invitation from the Top 20 universities regardless of their degrees, and will finance those invited by the Top 21 to 100 universities but based on certain fields.
