‘Cover night’: Freedom of self-expression

Can you imagine your life without music? Without any sound and melody? It feels like everything is dark and terrifying. People relax and calm themselves by listening to their favorite music. Admins of the “Mongolian Cover” facebook page are organizing the “Cover Night” event for all music lovers. It gives the youth a big opportunity to sing their favorite songs and play musical instruments.

This event takes place in “New York” restaurant every Sunday. In case you are wondering, it is free for people who want to listen to music. “Cover Night” is getting more and more attention from the people. The number of participants and viewers has dramatically increased within a month. For instance, the main organizer of the event, O.Misheel, emphasized that 15 out of the 26 participants were new musicians last Sunday.

Lately, the youth is interested in live music. And most of them are interested in listening to and or playing the guitar. Most of the participants of “Cover Night” sing in the style of pop and play musical instruments. A cover is a new performance of a previously released song, usually by someone other than the original artist. O.Misheel said that there’s a chance to develop cover music in Mongolia. The purpose of this event is to promote this kind of music in the country. “Cover Night” is also an opportunity for producers to choose someone who is really talented.

The organizers of this event are working on selecting and encouraging the best musician of the week to participate in the next event. “Cover Night” is open to everyone who wants to sing, show his or her musical talent, make new friends, express oneself, or just listen to amazing music.
