BANK OF MONGOLIA REPORTS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Bank of Mongolia (BoM) reports that a money supply (broad money or M2) at the end of July 2013 reached MNT 8,095.7 billion, increasing MNT 91.7 billion or 1.1 percent against the previous month, and increasing MNT 1,142.2 billion or 16.4 percent against the previous year.

Currency issued in circulation reached MNT 832.2 billion, decreasing by MNT 3.6 billion or 0.4 per cent against the previous month, and increasing by MNT 30.8 billion or 3.8 percent against the previous year.

Loans outstanding at the end of July 2013 amounted to MNT 9,117.2 billion, increasing MNT 509.5 billion or 5.9 percent against the previous month, and increasing MNT 2,688.7 billion or 41.8 percent against 2012.

Principals in arrears at the end of July 2013 reached MNT 161.3 billion, increasing MNT 11.6 billion or 7.7 percent against the previous month, by MNT 76.2 billion or 89.5 percent against the previous year.

The non-performing loans over the bank system reached MNT 452.7 billion, showing increases of MNT 136.1 billion or 43.0 percent against the previous month, MNT 147.0 billion or 48.1 percent compared to same period of the previous year.

23.3 million shares valued MNT 13.9 billion were sold in the first seven months of this year. The size of trades in terms of amount decreased MNT 48.1 billion or 77.6 percent and also went down in terms of the unit by 87.2 million or 79.0 percent against the previous year.
