Athletes named to compete at Cadet Championship

The World Wrestling Cadet Championship will take place in the Kristalna Dvorana Sports Hall in Zrenjanin, Serbia from August 20 to 25.

Wrestlers aged 16 to 17 who were born from 1996 to 1997 will compete in the boys’ 42, 46, 50, 54, 58, 63, 69, 76, 85, and 100 kg; as well as the girls’ 38, 40, 43, 46, 49, 52, 56, 60, 65, and 70-kg categories.

In the world cadet championships, Mongolian wrestlers O.Erdenetsogt won the gold medal in 60 kg in Duisburg, Germany in 1993; D.Erdenetulga won silver in 69 kg in Manchester, England in 1998; B.Namuuntsetseg and A.Battsetseg each took silver in 38 and 52 kg, respectively, along with S.Tserenchimed and B.Nyamgerel who won the bronze medals in 60 and 65 kg in Szombathely, Hungary in 2011; and G.Munkhtsetseg and B.Nyamgerel each got bronze in 40 and 65 kg in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2012.
