Energy Mongolia-2013 conference and exhibition held
The international Energy Mongolia-2013 conference began Friday at Blue Sky Tower and ended on the 26th. The event’s exhibition was held at the Misheel Expo Center. Energy Mongolia-2013 was organized by the Ministry of Energy, in cooperation with the Energy Development Center, to attract national and foreign investors to on-going energy projects, present eco-friendly advanced technology and services, and share information.
Mongolia’s fast growing economy, which grew 12.5 percent last year, has catalyzed the country’s ever-growing energy demands leading the government to pro-actively address its needs.
Several large-scale power projects have already been initiated by the government. Power Plant No.5, the Amgalan-15 Power Plant (with a capacity of 300 MW), and a power plant with a 450 MW capacity to serve the Tavan Tolgoi coal deposits, are all scheduled to be built.
Key government officials, including Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag, and Minister of Economic Development, N.Batbayar, took part in the event. Other participants included delegates from Mongolia’s private sector, energy sector, international banking and financial sectors, specialized unions, and international energy companies.
