Kazakh helicopter manufacturer enters Mongolian market

Kazakh helicopter manufacturer, Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering, has signed a memorandum with Mongolia on services exports, the National Export and Investment Agency KAZNEX INVEST said on Monday.
Under the agreement, the company will maintain EC145 helicopters in Mongolia provide advice and technical support as well as train flight crew.
The commercial director of Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering, Karybay Ablezov, said the company, as the only manufacturer of EC145 helicopters in the CIS, has the ability to deliver its products to neighbouring countries such as Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Belarus and Azerbaijan.
"It also gives us the exclusive right to provide services in these markets and develop additional export routes," Ablezov said.
KAZNEX INVEST plans to assist in the delivery of helicopters abroad.
Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering is a joint venture of the Franco-German company Eurocopter and Kazakhstan Engineering JSC. The design capacity of the plant is for 12 helicopters a year. During the next six years it is expected to increase the localisation of production to 30 per cent.
