PREMIER MEETS AMBASSADORS OF TURKEY AND USA
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Premier S.Batbold has stressed that the Ambassador of Turkey significantly contributed to a development of the Mongolia-Turkey relations and cooperation in all spheres.
He said it on Monday at a meeting with Mr. Ahmed Asym Arar, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Mongolia. The Ambassador will return home soon having completed the dipmission here.
Mentioning that the bilateral ties have been intensifying and the bilateral talks and measures have been running at a high-level, S.Batbold noted that the number of students studying in Turkey with scholarships is increasing, reaching a hundred so far. He underlined an importance of starting direct flights between the two countries.
In turn, Mr. Arar thanked the Premier for the audience and emphasized that the government of Mongolia is paying a great attention to boosting of the Mongolia-Turkey relations.
The same day, the PM received Mr. Jonathan Addleton, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Mongolia. Mr. Addleton also will return home completing the diplomatic mission in Mongolia.
The latter said the PM and his cabinet managed to reduce poverty and unemployment rates and that Mongolia's economic growth reached 17 per cent.
"This year, we have been celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Mongolia-USA diplomatic relations and the 150th anniversary of arrival of the very first American in Mongolia," Mr. Addleton mentioned and said he is satisfied with active participation of Mongolians in the elections of parliament and Citizens' Representative Khural. He always respects the Mongolian history and culture, he added.
Then the sides discussed an amendment to the message by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) addressed its members on the financing for southeastern countries of the Mediterranean Sea.
