World’s most expensive car
We have all heard about this topic, and we have all heard about the cars referred to this topic such as Buggati Veyron, Ferrari Enzo, McLaren F1 and even old school Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. But compared to this they are all spare change.
A race car originally destined for use by Stirling Moss but never raced by him because his career was cut short by a severe crash leaving him in a coma for a month, however the car did compete and won races in its time so it has racing pedigree despite being one of 39 GTO’s produced. The Apple-Green 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO takes the crown. It was recently sold for an enormous $35 million/£22.7 million easily making it the most expensive car in the world. Making in particular the Ferrari 250 GTO a very rare and valuable collectable.
The car was sold to Dutch-born Eric Heerema (owner of a vineyard in Sussex England) by U.S classic car collector Craig McCaw. Both gentlemen were unavailable for comment after the sale took place.
We wonder why.
