NAT'L FORUM ON FAMILY DEVELOPMENT HELD

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A national forum entitled “Family-Social Development” was held on Thursday in the Government House.


This forum comprehensively discussed urgent problems faced to families' development and solutions to tackle these problems. It also aimed to refine upon the national policy on families and determine proper actions to realize it.


At the forum, the Prime Minister S.Batbold underlined that the poverty rate of Mongolia was 39.2 per cent by 2010, and it reduced to 29.8 per cent in 2011. He said it was an expression of positive result of the cabinet's policies on supporting the economic growth, improving the business environment and employment, widening the social welfare and providing people with equal assesibilty for the social wealth.


“Though the average economic growth rate is relatively high or ten per cent, one out of three persons lives in poor condition. It means that the government needs to properly and effectively deliver the social proctection measures resulted from the economic growth to every person and family. The best way to do is participating in the action of accelerating the growth,” the Premier said, adding that the government is willing to create highly paid and sustainable job places by making investments from the high creative sectors such as mining.
The Premier said that the government is realizing a specific goal to improving the provision of apartments for the population, for example, the “100 thousand apartments” national program is being implemented.


The national program has brought together about 350 representatives from the state organizations, NGOs, the city's and aimags' administrations.
