FEMALE BOXERS TO COMPETE FOR OLYMPIC RIGHTS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Female boxers of the national selected team will leave for China to compete in the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championship which will run on May 9-20 in Qinhuangdao city.


The AIBA reports that women boxers aged 17-34 will compete in ten weight categories -- 45-48 kg, 51 kg, 54 kg, 57 kg, 60 kg, 64 kg, 69 kg, 75 kg, 81 kg and 81+ kg; besides, this year's championships will serve as the only qualifying event for the London 2012 Olympic Games. For the very first time in history, women boxers will be competing in the Olympic Games in three weight categories-- 48-51 kg, 57-60 kg and 69-75 kg. With 24 quotas places (eight in each weight categories) up for grabs, this 2012 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships is sure to be fiercely competitive.



Mongolia will be represented there by T.Bolortuul (48 kg), M.Nandintsetseg (51 kg), O.Suvd-Erdene (60 kg) and E.Uyanga (64 kg). They are managed by Ch.Ganzorig, the president of Mongolia's Olympic Boxing Federation (MOBF), and coached by L.Enkhbaatar and Narmandakh.



Medal winners in each Olympic weight category will be qualified for the London Games.
