Russia - Mongolia business council set up

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Russian Industry and Trade Chamber took a decision Wednesday to create a new organization -- Russia-Mongolia business council aimed to support the mutually beneficial cooperation between the business structures of the two countries.

Russian news agency ITAR-TASS reports that at the founders' meeting held Wednesday, Mr. Sergei Chemezov, director- general of "Rostekhnologia" state corporation, was elected the nead of the Council. According to Mr. Evgenii Primakov, the president of the Russian Industry and Trade Chamber, Mr. Chemezov is an ideal leader for business, best known not only in Russia, but in Mongolia.

"There are good reasons for electing him for that post as the company, directed by him, is actively cooperating with Mongolia, develops some investment projects abroad and supplies to foreign markets high-tech products from Russia," he said.

S.Chemezov, in his turn, said that "the both sides are keen to expand the partnership in a wide range of areas such as energy, transport, exploitation of mineral resources, agriculture and also in the humanitarian field".
