German defence minister in Mongolia
Ulan Bator - German Defence Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg arrived Wednesday in Ulan Bator for a stopover visit and talks with Mongolian leaders after a two-day visit in China.
Guttenberg was received by President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj for talks in a visit which German delegation sources said would include discussion of Afghanistan.Among others, Guttenberg was to express Germany's appreciation for the cooperation with Mongolia. A Mongolian infantry unit has been providing security for a German camp in Feisabad in northern Afghanistan for almost a year.Guttenberg's stop is on his return trip to Germany after two days of talks in Beijing, including a meeting with Chinese Defence Minister Liang Guanglie. The talks covered the Afghanistan conflict and security issues between China and NATO.
