Auto meme of the day: "Can you confirm you understood that message?"

weirdly enough, most F1 drivers have their own meme attached to them, today is a look on 2008 runner up and Ferrari #2 driver, Felipe Massa

"Can you confirm you understood that message"

History:
In Formula 1, a team order is a strategy in which one teammate is ordered to slow down to allow another to pass. Up until the 2000s it was legal but now that teams have taken it to such a level that teammates will crash to benefit the other driver, it was banned. But as time goes by, teams have gotten creative in hiding team orders, instead referring to them as team suggestions, but not all teams aren't exactly good at masking these orders. In the case of the 2010 German Grand Prix, while Felipe Massa was leading the race he received a radio message from his team stating this.

Ever since then, the combination of Ferrari's team order history, Fernando Alonso's dislike of teammates and Felipe Massa's perception of being a bitch, has made the term a staple for comments regarding someone to give up in order to make someone else look better. Rubens Barichello and Nelson Piquet Jr. have both been in Massa's shoes and can be used as alternatives [wait i just noticed they're all Brazilians]

Doing it right:
  • "Massa, Alonso's car just broke down and he needs a new one, confirm you understood that message"
  • "Massa, my homework is not done, confirm you understood that message"
  • "Massa, my taxes need to be done, confirm you understood that message"
