Prime Minister Meets Ambassadors

The Prime Minister S.Batbold met Thursday the Ambassadors of some countries to Mongolia.



At the meeting with Mr. Satbir Singh, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India, the Premier underlined that Mongolia and India have traditional intellectual connections and that the bilateral ties have a long-year history. He pointed out that the traditional cooperation has been intensively developing in the educational and cultural spheres, and emphasized an importance of widening the collaboration in economics, trade and investment sectors in aims to elevate it into a newer level.



The Prime Minister said he will forward the cooperation in other spheres and underlined an importance of keeping a frequency of mutual meetings, visits and exchanges.



In turn, Mr. Singh stated that the Indian investors want to invest Mongolia and said a business delegates will come late September. A possibility is studied to include a Minister for mining affairs in delegation.



Meeting with Mr. Hoang Taun Thin, the Ambassador of Vietnam, the Premier wished him success in strengthening the traditional and friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Vietnam. Mr. Batbold expressed his satisfaction with an increase of the trade turnover and widening of the collaboration in the sectors of agriculture, education, culture, health and tourism. He hoped that knowledge about Mongolia gained by the Ambassador during studies in Mongolia between 1977 and 1982 will contribute to bringing the ties into a newer level.



The Premier said he is satisfied with a successful organization of the 14th meeting of the Mongolia-Vietnam inter-governmental joint commission, and asked the Ambassador to be active in realizing decisions the joint commission had made.



Mr. Batbold mentioned that Mongolia wants to develop relations and cooperation with the members of the ASEAN, and expressed a confidence that Vietnam will support Mongolia in taking part in the APEC, the East Asia Summit (EAS) and the cooperation of the ASEAN.



The Ambassador conveyed to Mr. Batbold an invitation from Vietnam's Premier to visit Vietnam.

The same day, the Premier met Mr. Jean Paul Dumont, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France. They shared views on a present situation of Mongolia-France relations and cooperation.
