British co-driver Phil Hall heads to Australia for National Capitol Rally MSA Academy co-driver Phil Hall will make his second trip to the Southern Hemisphere this year as he heads to Canberra, Australia to contest the National Capitol Rally alongside rising Aussie star, Rhys Pinter.
After contesting Rally Australia two years in a row with Pinter in 2015 and 2016, the
itsmymotorsport.co.uk backed co-driver will return to the continent to assist in Pinter’s assault on the FIA Asia Pacific and Australian Rally Championship round in his Ford Fiesta R2.
The 28 year old from Mansfield near Nottingham is undeniably one most progressive co-drivers in recent times and has enjoyed a wide range out outings during his career. Having recently contested the International Rally Whangeria with Rhys Gardner, bagging an impressive 4
th spot in the New Zealand Rally Championship with the Kiwi, Hall heads back to Australasia once again this week.
“It’s great to be competing alongside Rhys (Pinter) in his home country again and contesting a round of the FIA Asian Pacific Championship makes it even more special” says Hall.
“Rhys has been working really hard over the past few months and he has secured a new sponsor for the rally which is fantastic news and I’m really excited to be back in the car with him”.
The National Capitol provides over 230km of stages spread across two days and as with any event of this stature, Hall is looking forward to getting stuck into the challenge of an event in a different continent.
“My time in New Zealand and of course the two attempts at Rally Australia with Rhys mean I pretty much feel at home doing events there now. But you can’t be complacent. I’ve been working hard on the prep and fitness over the past few weeks to ensure I`m at the top of my game. I’m really looking forward to the event, Rhys and I get on really well in the car so hopefully we can get a decent result under our belts”.
The National Capitol Rally takes place on the 26
th – 28
th May and centres on the dirt tracks and forests surrounding nearby Canberra.
