Thompson leads the Championship for Power Maxed Racing
Thompson shone from the outset of the weekend, following a very productive test on Friday, the youngster from Hornchurch showed his professionalism and pace utilising the time to make development notes and fine tuning the VW Polo R.
He carried this on into qualifying and despite the cars lack of running in wet track conditions, Thompson put the Polo R 4th on the grid for round 6 of the Championship.
Bobby Thomson commented, "The team delivered a stunning race car yet again. The Polo R is phenomenal; it has only competed in 6 races so far, and I have been on the podium for 3 of them!".
Thompson continues, "I had the bit between my teeth, and I had the pace to pass House but in such bleak conditions, I could not guarantee I wouldn't take him out on the way past. With driver standards such an issue this year, I wanted to pass him cleanly or not at all, a podium is still a podium, and I will get my first win in the PMR Polo R shortly."
Adam Weaver, Power Maxed Racing Team Principal commented, "Bobby is a fantastic young talent which is why I spotted and signed him, he does not disappoint. He works perfectly alongside our very skilled team, and the results are speaking for themselves. It is nice to see the teams hard work coming to fruition and Bobby racing in such a clean and respectable fashion".
Weaver continues, "We are expanding as a team, and I am always looking for drivers to fill our ever-growing fleet of cars for the VW Cup, we have more Polos on the way and have some quality Siroccos, get in touch for arrive-and-drive or season packages."
Power Maxed Racing will be out again in the VW Cup as it travels to Spa-Francorchamps for the next round on the 8th 9th July.
