With a lot of the European Championship drivers electing to pack up after their races it was a depleted field that took the lights for the Division 1 Grand Prix. Liam Morley from pole position and Peter Elkmann renewed their battle from earlier in the day.  It was three abreast down to Redgate for the first time with Dave Harvey looking for a move around the outside. But Elkmann took the lead and held it through the first lap with Morley second. Jason Dredge slotted into third place but his race was short-lived when the PVP motor seized on the next lap. This elevated Harvey into third ahead of Stefan Malm but they were already six seconds behind Elkmann and Morley. Alan Witheroe was next from Danny Chan and Richard Dewart.

The two leaders swapped positions on nearly every lap with Morley quicker down to Redgate but Elkmann able to get past further round the lap. On lap 7 Morley made a decisive move and opened up a lead of just over a second, setting the fastest lap in the process. They traded nearly identical times for the next few laps before encountering traffic. Morley looked to have done enough as they started the last lap but when he encountered more traffic Elkmann closed in and was only 0.583s behind at the flag. Morley retained his GP title for the third year and has almost wrapped up the Division 1 championship. Malm got the better of Harvey on lap 4 and edged away to take third place while Mark Verhaar picked off Dewart and Chan. He then chased after Witheroe passing him with two laps to go.
