Donington to rev up Father's Day with weekend of quality club racing
Donington Park roars back into life next weekend (18-19 June) with a packed schedule of races from the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC), featuring saloon cars, Minis, sports cars, and classic racers, in front of a live TV audience!
A total of 23 races are scheduled for the weekend with the action on Father’s Day afternoon being broadcast live on specialist motorsport channel Motors TV.
The Mini is a real dad’s favourite, and a variety of these championships will be in action, including series catering for both the old style and more modern version of this legendary machine. Classic Minis will go head to head in three categories, the Mini Miglia, Mini Seven and Mighty Mini series, while newer cars will racing in the Scottish Mini Championship, which makes it’s only visit south of the border this year.
Tin top thrills will come from the Castle Combe Saloon Car Championship, which will feature big grids of modern family type cars, so look out for machines from the likes of Vauxhall, Renault, BMW, Ford, Audi and more, with more saloon car racing coming from the CNC Heads Sports and Saloon Car Championship.
Sports cars will be in action, with racing from the MaX5 Championship for open topped Mazda MX-5s and the Porsche GB Championship which will see a wide variety of cars from the iconic German manufacturer hit the track.
The line-up is finalised with a multitude of classic touring car races, with Ford cars going head to head in the Blue Oval Saloon Series, the Thunder Saloon Car Championship for more exotic cars, as well as further racing from five age-specific categories, with machines in action from the 1960s to the mid-2000s.
Tickets for the British Automobile Racing Club weekend at Donington Park on 18-19 June will be available upon arrival at the circuit, priced at £17 per day or £30 for the full weekend. For more information visit www.donington-park.co.uk.
