Back to Brno: Czech Track To Host 24 Hour Series Finale

After the success of the inaugural running last year, the Hankook 12H EPILOG BRNO (October 14-15, 2016) will again serve as the season finale for the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook. “While it was the first time for us to have a race there, our event also revived the tradition of the EPILOG meeting as an endurance race to conclude the season at the Automotodrom Brno. The feedback we received from teams, drivers, spectators and the people at the track was very positive, so it was only logical for us to have our season finale there again this year”, says Natasha Mark on behalf of CREVENTIC. The Dutch agency is promoter and organiser of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook in co-operation with DNRT (Dutch National Racing Team).

Last year’s race at Brno, a beautiful and challenging circuit with plenty of undulation, saw a total of 50 cars on track, battling not only for race honours, but also for the final points in the championship standings. There was a popular victory for Scuderia Praha from the Czech Republic with its Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 driven by Jiri Pisarik, Jaromir Jirik, Matteo Malucelli and Peter Kox finishing one lap ahead of British team Ram Racing’s Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3. Second place in the A3T class behind Team Altran’s Peugeot 208 GTi was enough for Lebanese team, Memac Ogilvy Duel Racing with brothers Nabil, Ramzi and Sami Moutran and Phil Quaife to wrap up the overall teams’ title in the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook. Swiss lady racer, Chantal Kroll, took the Ladies’ Cup and the overall drivers’ title in the series.

This year’s Hankook 12H EPILOG BRNO will be the seventh and final round of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook. Unlike the other twelve-hour races on the calendar of the series, where the twelve hours of the race are split up over two days, the race at Brno will see twelve hours of racing at once, running from noon till midnight. That also includes plenty of running in the dark, a special element adding to the fascination of the endurance event. So far, over 50 entries have been received already. “Once again, we expect the battle for the titles in most classes, as well as the overall titles, to be decided at Brno, which certainly adds to the excitement,” Natasha Mark says. “The Automotodrom Brno is within easy reach from Prague and Vienna, both with international airports, and the city and the region offer plenty of opportunities for accommodation. The team from Radiolemans.com will be on site for live commentary and there will be live streaming on the series’ website and live broadcasting on Motors TV.”  Further information about the Hankook 12H EPILOG BRNO and the other rounds of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook can be found at www.24hseries.com.
