Ulaanbaatar,
August 28 (MONTSAME) Children of Dundgovi province were taught how to make
dinosaurs out of paper on August 27.
Regular
trainings have been run for Mongolians who create/repair dinosaur models by
Mongolian Institute of Dinosaur Studies together with Dennis Wilson, an artist
from American “Panjea Design” studio in Florida.
This time, the
event involved local artists and 7-12-aged kids of this aimag. The training
gave the children knowledge about names and features of dinosaurs found in
Mongolia and on making their paper models. Mr Wilson noted that making these
models in 3D is of great importance in terms of giving the right image of what
dinosaurs actually looked like, and is very realistic, due to its study
approaches invented by paleontologists, and that very small number of artists
attempt in such fields of art.
Mongolian
Institute of Dinosaur Studies was established in 2007, started trainings for
public, especially for teenagers since 2009, the main objective of which is not
only to advertise, but also to prepare future paleontologists, to cooperate
with international scholars, and to establish paleontology museum, said a
paleontologist M.Bolortsetseg. The institute played a main role in returning
Tarbosaurus Bataar, and is working on bringing other 22 illegally exported
