Military
unit in Dornod province awarded State Order

Ulaanbaatar,
August 25 (MONTSAME) Dornod aimag’s Kherlen soum-based a military unit named
after Marshal Kh.Choibalsan has been awarded the Order of Military Merit
pursuant to a decree of the President Ts.Elbegdorj, in frames of the 75th
anniversary of the Khalkh River Battles Victory.
The Order
granting ceremony took place Sunday in the military unit with a participation
of Mr P.Tsagaan, the head of the Presidential Office; Brigadier-General
Sh.Lhachinjav, the head of the General Authority for Border Protection, and
other officials.
The President’s
decree says that the military unit in Kherlen soum of Dornod aimag has been
awarded this Order on occasion of the 2223rd anniversary of the first Mongolian
statehood - the Hun Empire, the 808th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire,
the 93rd anniversary of the People’s Revolution of Mongolia, and the 75th
anniversary of the Khalkh River Battles Victory.
In his speech,
Mr Tsagaan emphasized that servicemen of this unit participated in the 1939
Khalkh River Battle and in the 1945 Liberation Battle.
“Many heroes
were born from this military unit. They fought for us and our independence. Our
present and future generations must not forget their priceless merit and
reputation and must not ignore their heroism,” he stressed.
After this, the
Brigadier-General Sh.Lhachinjav delivered a speech, underlining that both the
wars of 1939 and 1945 were inevitable for Mongolia in its protecting the
independence.
Khan
Bank named the Best Bank in Mongolia
August 25 (Khan

organized in Hong Kong awarding the best banks from around the world. At the
ceremony, Khan Bank was named the ‘Best Bank in Mongolia’ for the seventh time,
the bank’s website reported Monday.

Stock
Exchange news for August 25

August 25 (MONTSAME) At the Stock Exchange trades on Monday, a total of 6,106
shares of 18 JSCs were traded costing 26 million 518 thousand and 449.00
Togrog.
"Tavantolgoi”
/4,319 units/, “Mongol savkhi” /479 units/, “Noyot khairkhan” /360/, “E-trans
logistics” /200/ and "Genco tour bureau” /200 units/ were the most
actively traded in terms of trading volume, in terms of trading value were
"Tavantolgoi” (MNT 21 million 685 thousand and 610), "Gutal” (MNT one
million and 540 thousand), "Darkhan nekhii” (MNT 828 thousand),
"Mongol savkhi” (MNT622 thousand and 700) and "Noyot khairkhan” (MNT
539 thousand and 640).
The total
market capitalization was set at MNT one trillion 623 billion 671 million 870
thousand and 288. The Index of Top-20 JSCs was 15,983.14, decreasing 17.08%
against the previous day.
International
IT training held here

Ulaanbaatar,
August 25 (MONTSAME) Nuclear Energy Authority (NEA) and International Agency of
Atomic Energy (IAAE) are jointly organizing advanced training themed “The Use
of Information technology in Research and Evaluation”, with an initiative of
IAAE and the EU on August 18-22 in Ulaanbaatar.
The training
has involved 24 IT professionals from R&E institutions of Mongolia,
Myanmar, Laos, Indonesia, Pakistan, Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Thailand and
Philippines. The main purpose of the training is to introduce the latest
information system of accounting software (RAIS 3.3 Web) into R&D
institutions’ use.
During the
training, the analysts gave information on efficient use of R&D information
system, management networks in standard of IAAE, and security of online
information.
Forum
on children’s rights runs

Ulaanbaatar,
August 25 (MONTSAME) The 3rd Asian Forum on the children’s rights took place
August 23-24 in Ulaanbaatar.
Co-organized by
the National Department for Children, the National Commission for Human Rights,
the Permanent Representative Office of the UNICEF and Japan’s Institute for
Convention on the Rights of the Child, the forum brought together 160 delegates
of Mongolia, Japan, South Korea, India, Cambodia and Indonesia to have them
discussed issues of children’s rights.
They also
exchanged experiences, efforts and achievements in ensuring of the
implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and in protecting
the children’s rights at Asian and local levels.
The National
Department for Children (NDC) chairwoman I.Narantuya delivered a report about a
realization of the Children’s Rights Convention in Mongolia and on measures
being taken by the government. A department head of the NDC B.Javzankhuu gave a
“Protection of children’s rights in Mongolia and supporting children’s rights”
report.
At the end of
the forum, the participants approved a declaration with a purpose of fortifying
the international cooperation in realizing future measures for children’s
rights and the Children’s Rights Convention.
Peace
Corps sworn-in ceremony featured in News Hour

Ulaanbaatar,
August 25 (MONTSAME) More than 90 new volunteers were sworn into service at the
Peace Corps Mongolia Swearing-In Ceremony at the Ambassador Campbell's
residence on August 16.
The event
included remarks as well as performances of Mongolian songs by the Peace Corps
Volunteers, said the US Embassy in its website last week.
The Peace Corps
recruits, places and trains Americans of all ages and backgrounds to serve in
65 countries around the world. Volunteers work at the grassroots level toward
sustainable change across six program areas: education, health, community
economic development, environment, youth in development, and agriculture.
The swear-in
ceremony has been featured in the News Hour of Mongolian National Broadcaster
(MNB) television network. MNB is the most watched national TV station, and its
Evening News Hour is especially popular.
Russian
culture days continue

August 25 (MONTSAME) The days of Russian culture have started in a scope of the
75th anniversary of the Khalkh River Battles.
The event will
continue until August 28. They include Russian movies and an arrival of famous
actors from Russia who are expected to be received by M.Tumenjargal, a deputy
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Russian movies
will be shown at Russian Culture and Science Centre.
