Permanent
Rep attends dialogue in UN Headquarters



Ulaanbaatar,
May 2 (MONTSAME) The Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations
(UN) Mr O.Och has participated as a general speaker in the interactive dialogue
on "Elements for a monitoring and accountability framework for the
Post-2015 Development Agenda".






The dialogue was
organized Thursday by the Economic and Social Council in the UN Headquarters,
New York City at an initiative of Mr John W.Ashe, the president of the UN
General Assembly at the 68th session.


By his report,
Mr Och gave details about experience of Mongolia in implementing goals for
strengthening human rights and developing the democratic governance within the
9th goal of the Millennium Development, and a process of realizing the
accountability and monitoring system.


A special envoy
of the UN Secretary-General on developmental goals beyond 2015 Ms Amina
J.Mohamed highlighted a good example of Mongolia’s achievements and experience
for implementing the MDGs, and agreed with the Permanent Representative’s view
on an importance of improving the accountability system for realizing the
developmental goals.









Vice
Speaker meets members of Union of Constitution Authors



Ulaanbaatar, May
2 (MONTSAME) On Thursday, a Vice Speaker of the State Great Khural (parliament)
L.Tsog received members of the Union of Constitution Authors Ts.Khurts,
J.Gombojav, B.Sanduijav, Ts.Lookhuuz and D.Togooch.


They exchanged
views with the Vice Speaker L.Tsog who has been appointed as a chair of a
working group in responsible for studying whether it should amend seven clauses
of the Constitution of Mongolia.


During the
meeting, the union’s members said it is necessary to alter the seven clauses
because these clauses were changed before by parliament without considering
opinions from the public. The current clauses in the Constitution destroyed
duty principles of parliament, government and court, they explained.  
 









Sixth
stage dialogue for EPA held in Tokyo



Ulaanbaatar,
May 2 (MONTSAME) The 6th stage dialogue took place April 22-26 in Tokyo, Japan
for an Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) to be established between Mongolia
and Japan.


Co-chaired by
O.Chuluunbat, the Mongolia’s Vice Minister of Economic Development; and Seiji
Kihara, the Japan’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, the dialogue was attended
by officials and experts from the related Ministries and departments of the
countries.


The dialogue
focused several matters such as general and final clauses of the EPA, rules for
products’ sales, investments and origin, E-trade and customs rules,
competitions, cooperation, resolving of disputes, intellectual property,
service sales, quarantine and technical sanctions over the trade.


It is
considered establishing the EPA with Japan will bring many advantages to
Mongolia for expanding the bilateral commercial ties, deepening the economic
relations and increasing investments from Japan.


As the parties
have decided, the next stage dialogue will be scheduled through a diplomatic
line.









Stock
exchange news for May 2



Ulaanbaatar,
May 2 (MONTSAME) At the Stock Exchange trades held Friday, a total of 20
thousand and 104 shares of 13 JSCs were traded costing MNT 10 million 160
thousand and 195.00.


"Remikon"
/16 thousand and 810 units/, "APU" /1,152 units/, "Merex"
/954 units/, "Moninjbar" /500 units/ and "Gobi" /210 units/
were the most actively traded in terms of trading volume, in terms of trading
value--"APU" (MNT four million and 320 thousand), "Remikon"
(MNT two million 521 thousand and 500), "Gobi" (MNT one million 502
thousand and 600), "Tsagduultai" (MNT 883 thousand and 550) and
"Tavantolgoi" (MNT 329 thousand and 455).


The total
market capitalization was set at MNT one trillion 592 billion 023 million 271
thousand and 538. The Index of Top-20 JSCs was 15,529.69, decreasing by MNT
52.79 or 0.34% against the previous day.
