Youth members help plant school gardens
Youth members of La Cañada United Methodist Church helped out in the vegetable gardens at Andrew Jackson Elementary School in Altadena last Sunday, pulling weeds and planting tomatoes and basil. The garden is part of the “From Seeds to Table” program the school participates in to teach children how to grow foods for nutritious meals.
At the church’s 10:30 a.m. service this Communion Sunday, Pastor Elaine Cho continues her series of sermons about Christ’s last words on the cross with “I Thirst” from John 19:28-29.
The Rev. Ed McRae and his wife Martina will be the guest speakers for this month’s All Church Luncheon, a potluck meal that takes place at noon on Sunday. In 2012, the McRaes led a mission team to Mongolia to build a children’s playground. This was at the request of a missionary from the United Methodist General Board of Global Missions which La Cañada United Methodist helps to fund.
LCUMC is located at 104 Berkshire Place across from LCHS. For more info, phone (818) 790-3605.
