U.MONKH-ERDENE FIGHTS FOR MEDAL IN ALMATY
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In ongoing 2013 AIBA World Championship in Almaty, only one Mongolian boxer, U.Monkh-Erdene (21) is continuing his fights for a medal.
On Monday, Munk-Erdene beat Airyn Ismetov from Bulgaria with a result of 3:0 at light-welter weight category, where the former has ranked the second after Welsh A.Shelby.
The seventh day of the tournament, on Wednesday, out boxer will fight against the 2009 Asian Champion Sanzharbek Rakhmanov (Uzbekistan) at a bronze medal match.
Monkh-Erdene has become the team’s only hope for a medal, as other six Mongolians at the Championship were beaten at their preliminary bouts one after another.
