Tavan Tolgoi power plant company to be formed
The Government reached a decision during Sunday`s cabinet meeting to jointly establish a project coordination company with the private sector. The Government considered the need to build a power plant with a capacity of 450 megawatts based on the Tavan Tolgoi coal mine site. The Cabinet gave the order to the Minister of Energy, M.Sonompil, who will be in charge of the management of the project coordinator company that is to be formed.
According to the decision made by the Government, the Tavan Tolgoi power plant company will be invested in by the Government, with a state stake no less than 34 percent. The Ministry of Energy was granted permission to make changes in the stake ownership.
