ACWF Inspects Women's Work in Inner Mongolia
A team from the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), headed by Vice President and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF Zhen Yan, recently inspected grassroots women's work in Bayan Nur City in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
President of the Inner Mongolia Women's Federation Chen Yu and President of Bayan Nur Women's Federation Jian Guitao accompanied the inspection.
The team held a symposium with grassroots women from Bayan Nur, Wuhai and other places. Zhen asked the women about the current situation and difficulties in women's work, and collected proposals and suggestions on the Constitution of ACWF during the symposium. Zhen pointed out that women's federations of all levels have made efforts to protect women's rights and interests by launching a series of campaigns to promote economic and social development since the 10th Chinese National Women's Congress opened in 2008. Zhen said that she hoped women officials would strengthen grassroots inspection in the future.
The team also visited an agricultural demonstration base and villages and talked to local women to find out more about how small loans have benefited women in Bayan Nur. They also commended the Bayan Nur Women's Federation for its achievements in women's work.
