Inner Mongolia take four of five golds at Chinese Wrestling
HOHHOT, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Players from China's Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region won four of the five gold medals on offer at the Chinese Wrestling in the Second Ordos International Nadam Fair on Thursday while Dawanima from Mongolia took the other.
A total of 15 teams from Mongolia, China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region participated in the wrestling competition, divided into five categories of 57kg, 62kg, 74kg, 90kg and over 90kg.
Enhebatuo, coach of the Mongolian team, said it was the first time for their players to take part in the competition and they didn't show their best due to their unfamiliarity with the rules.
Dating back to Zhou Dynasty, Chinese wrestling is one of the oldest sports in China. It had been included as the official sport of China's National Games from 1959 to 1994.
