"KHATAN TUUL" NAT'L PROGRAM APPROVED
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Cabinet meeting on Wednesday approved a working plan on “Khatan Tuul” program to be implemented in two stages of 2012-2016 and 2017-2020 along the Tuul river basin.
Within the program, the measures will be taken firstly to protect riverhead, small rivers and streams flowing into Tuul. Also a zone for general protection of Tuul river basin and the pure water supply resources in Ulaanbaatar will be set, and if needed, the basin will be taken under the state special protected area.
All water purification plants in Ulaanbaatar along the Tuul river are to be underwent the technological innovations, and technical requirements of sewerage facilities will be satisfied in accordance with relative standard.
It is planned to stop the exploitation of such mineral resources as sand and gravel around Tuul river, complete effectively the technical and biological rehabilitation works being implemented there.
The financial resources needed for the project will be funded yearly from the state and province budget within the basic directions of social-economic development of the country. Some activities will be also run through the cooperation with the international organizations, as well as their aids and loans.
