G-Wagon Successor
A while back we brought you the Chuck Norris of cars. The Mercedes Benz G63 AMG. Now we have a revised version of that very same monster machine but with extra AMG steroids pumping trough its veins and after 33 years it just keeps getting better and better.
This new model looks pretty much like all the other ones it replaces but features a new and revised interior to give it more class, keep it up to date with the current line up of Mercedes. Despite the similarities with all its other siblings small cosmetic changes have also found their way into the new G-Class. More like a shot of Botox.
The suspension and dampers have been reworked to give more dynamic handling for this big behemoth. New 375mm ventilated front brakes provide super stopping power and big 20 inch wheels compliment the new suspension work done, all to give it better handling on road and also make it better if any one decides to take it off road which is what this thing was originally designed for. The ESP has been remap to give it the ability for hill assist and trailer control for those who like to tow something around.
The big news lie under the bonnet, the G63 AMG features AMG’s new 5.5L V8 Bi-Turbo unit with 544hp/400kw and 760 Newton meters. Making it move from 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds and a 210km/h limited top speed. However the G65 AMG has a 6.0L V12 Bi-Turbo nuclear weapon producing a massive 612hp/450kw and earth moving 1000 Newton meters torque. Which makes it the most powerful production off-roader on the planet. Both units will be helped along by AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC gearbox and all wheel drive system.
Both models will go on sale from June 2012 and won’t be cheap but hey neither is a Swiss Army Knife and that does everything you need it to do just brilliantly.
