Office of Canadian mining company sealed off in Mongolia
ULAN BATOR, May 8 (Xinhua) -- The Ulan Bator office of the South Gobi Sands company, a Canadian company mining and exporting coal in South Gobi region of Mongolia, has been sealed off, Local media reported Tuesday.
According to the report, the office of South Gobi Sands has been sealed off starting Monday evening and about 10 agents of the Mongolian Independent Agency Against Corruption are searching through the office of the company.
South Gobi Sands is a wholly owned division of SouthGobi Resources Ltd which is 57.6 percent owned by Canadian exploration company Ivanhoe Mines.
