LAND ROVER
Land Rover is the second-oldest four-wheel-drive automotive brand in the world after Jeep. Headquartered in Gaydon, United Kingdom, it is owned by Tata Motors, forming part of its Jaguar/Land Rover subsidiary
The original Land Rover, launched by Rover Company in 1948, drove off the production line ready to take on some of the world's toughest terrain. Constructed of a lightweight rustproof proprietary alloy of aluminum and magnesium called Birmabright, the Land Rover's resistance to corrosion helped it gain a reputation for longevity in the toughest conditions. Six decades later, it is estimated that two-thirds of all Land Rovers are still at work -- many of them in some of the most extreme conditions and inhospitable places on earth. Today Land Rover has developed into a brand encompassing a range of four-wheel-drive models, including the Defender, Discovery, Freelander, and Range Rove
