Japanese Tuners vs American Muscle
Since the Dawn of the Motor Vehicle, this feud has reigned from the Eastern to Western World. From 2 old enemies to modern day Allies. These 2 super giants in the Motor industry have complete different concepts and ideas about everything they do. The Japanese are a humble and very traditional Country. The Americans are Fast food junkies who's battle strategy is just screaming power and running full force in, never shying from a fight. so when they made a car that best suit themselves, 2 types emerged. Tuners and Muscles.
Tuners. Reasonably priced cars that are super modified with turbo's, Intercoolers, NOS and much more. From body kits to performance kits. Each decked out to its maximum performance. Each having its unique design and performance. Some might even say, Its the artistic side of Cars with the frequent use of custom vinyl's, unique colors and flashy neon lights. Tuners originate from Japan in the late 70's and early 80's as an after market economical high performance cars. Its not till the late 80's that Japanese performance cars where exported outside the Japanese domestic market into the Western World as an opposition to big heavy American muscle Sports Cars, such as the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Corvette. The most Common Japanese tuners are Nissan Skyline, Nissan Silvia, Nissan 350Z and 370Z, Nissan 240 SX, Honda Civic, Honda S2000, Mazda RX7 and RX 8, Mitsubishi Evo, Toyota Celica and Toyota Supra. Even though Tuners range from all kinds and types of vehicle, these are the most common. The use of Tuners range from Drifting, Drag racing, normal racing and even illegal Street events. Some Country's have banned the use of modification parts like Neon lights, Nos (Nitrous Oxide) and certain high frequency Audio system. For some, Tuners have become the symbol of a modern day rebellion but for other it has become a way to express themselves through their vehicle.
Muscle. American Muscle or Classic American, Is a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with very powerful engines designed for high-performance driving. Built with Big V8 engine blocks and a heavy solid frame, Muscle Cars are powerful in drag racing but are weak at high speed turns due to the heavy mass of the vehicle. American Muscle Cars is basically all "Muscle", Big and strong. American Muscle Cars originate from the Oldsmobile Rocket 88 in 1949. Built only for speed and power, this V8 opened the gate for American Muscle Cars to come. From the 1955 Chrysler C-300 to the Ford Mustang in 1964. Throughout the next 63 Years from the original Oldsmobile Rocket 88 in 1946, American Muscle Cars only got bigger and more powerful. Ending up on today's 2012 Chevy Corvette with 430 Break Horse Power. Evolution or revolution. Dubbed "The symbol of American Cars" the Muscle has always been around. The most Common American Muscle Cars are, Dodge Charger, Chevrolet El Camino, Plymouth Road Runner, Ford Mustang, Ford Fairlane 500, Ford Torino, the Mercury Montego, Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Corvette, Pontiac GTO, Pontiac Firebird, Pontiac Tempest, Chevelle SS, Oldsmobile 442, American Javelin, Plymouth 'Cuda, Chevy Corvette, Dodge Viper and Dodge Challenger. Most of These car that are listed are big block V8's. Modern Day American Muscle Cars have been revolutionized to be more circuit racers then just "Turn Key Drag Racers" from lighter body frames to lighter Engines that still produce the same power, Lower profiles and increased aerodynamics, all giving the vehicle an over all performance boost but still keeping the absolute Muscle factor.
Tuners vs Muscle. From "The Fast and The Furious" movies to YouTube Videos, This match up as been around from the beginning of their existence. Each side self declared Winners but no one accredited yet. A fight that needs to be looked at carefully. Both sides have always had and always will have impressive designs, Race Specifications and overall appeal, constantly improving and bettering each other. From Japan to America. East to West. The world awaits for a clear victor. A day where one side can raise its hand victoriously. Unfortunately, today is not that day.
