Hunter jets in
NEW Zealand-born supermodel Rachel Hunter jetted into the country yesterday morning, bringing her considerable expertise to the Miss World Fiji 2012 pageant.
She will be joined by Fear Factor Grand Champion USA Mark Hewlett to act as celebrity judges for the pageant.
Together with local judges Hupfeld Hoerder, Zelda Thomas Paige and Carl Probert, they will choose the Fijian beauty to represent Fiji to Mongolia.
However, current Miss World, Venezuelan Ivian Sarcos and former Miss Australia Laura Dundovic who were slated to visit Fiji for the pageant, will not attend because of travel scheduling.
Hunter was at Pacific Harbour when this edition went to press. She is expected to be in Suva tomorrow as the official engagements for the Miss World Fiji pageant begin.
National Pageant director Andhy Blake said the contestants would find out this Saturday, who among them would represent Fiji at the Miss World competition.
"This Saturday, one of these 13 young beautiful ladies will be crowned Miss World Fiji 2012, it will be an emotional event as they've all grown close over the previous weeks of preparation," Mr Blake said.
The Miss World Fiji competition started with the Tavarua Island Beach Beauty Competition. The 13 contestants will find out the winner of the Beach Beauty Competition on Saturday before the crowning.
