AGRICULTURAL DELEGATION VISITS AUSTRALIA
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A delegation led by P.Altangerel, the head of the Standing committee on environment and agriculture and E.Bat-Uul MP, visited Australia on November 28-30 to study agricultural experience of this country.
During the stay, the agricultural ministries of the two countries co-organized a joint committee meeting in accordance with a bilateral memorandum established in February of 2011. The meeting was co-chaired by Ch.Enkh-Amgalan, a department head of Mongolia's Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, and by Mrs. Paula Svarcas, a leader of the bilateral trade and market department of Australia's Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
In addition, the Mongolian Ambassador to Australia Ts.Jambaldorj, and head of the Australian veterinary authority Mark Ship have signed a protocol on exchanging deep-frozen sperms of cows and sheep.
The sides have shared views on expanding the agricultural collaboration and expressed a mutual willingness to widen the agricultural products trade. They have agreed to export Australian agricultural products to Mongolia. The Mongolian side has requested Australia to support and assist in setting up a wool and cashmere exchange, adding that will send a related project to Australia in near future.
Within the visit, the delegation got acquainted with the New South Wales state-based Australian wool exchange and activities of the Association of Grain Trade.
Next joint committee meeting will run in Mongolia.
