Association "Mongolian culture and Europe" founded
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ On November 10, an Association "Mongolian culture and Europe" was established in Vienna. Its main goal is to support promotion of cultural ties between Mongolia and European countries.
The association will organize different activities, seminars, will promote exchange of experience, undertake other activities in the areas of cultural exchange.
The inaugural meeting was held at the Palais Epstein of the Austrian parliament with over 40 people attending. The meeting elected Mr. Franz Simbьrger, a chief of science section of Austria's ORF radio, as its president. Member of Austrian parliament
Ing. Kurt Gertlehner has become one of the Association's founding members. Mongolian co-founders are B.Mungunchimeg and B.Uranzaya.
J. Enkhsaikhan, Mongolia's Ambassador to Austria, participated in the inaugural ceremony and welcomed the establishment of the association as an organization that can help boost mutual understanding. He said the Mongolian Embassy would be working with the Association in organizing cultural programs in Austria adding that the Embassy is planning next year to bring a calligraphic exhibition to demonstrate the richness of the Mongolian culture and uniqueness of Mongolia's traditional uyghur writing.
